Our founder and primary leadership instructor Forrest Young-Taft, DVM is a senior field faculty with NOLS and has been teaching leadership in the outdoors since 2011. He graduated from Colorado State University’s DVM program. He became aware of the gap in leadership experience and education for beginning veterinarians. Since then he has built a veterinary leadership program with the world’s best outdoor leadership school to train these emerging veterinary leaders.

VOLC partners with the world renowned experiential leadership school NOLS to offer leadership development and RACE CE. In collaboration with NOLS we offer courses based in the 65 years of leadership educational experience NOLS has tailored specifically to support veterinarians in becoming their best selves as leaders on and off the clinic floor.
